Perk blast shield

Blast Shield is one of the Defense Spacemen Perks in Unfortunate Spacemen. It is unlocked at rank 6.

In-Game Description[ | ]

You can take a really big hit.

  • You have a visible BLAST SHIELD COLLAR when Blast Shield is active.
  • Upon taking LETHAL EXPLOSION DAMAGE, your BLAST SHIELD TRIGGERS, saving you from DEATH and leaving you with 10 health.
  • You take NON-HEADSHOT DAMAGE from HEADSHOTS, while your BLAST SHIELD IS ACTIVE.
  • It will only work in human form allowing explosives to be used on a monster with blast shield

Strategy[ | ]

This perk offers increased defense in an actual fight, being especially potent against rockets, grenades, railguns, and anyone with good aim. The high damage output of railguns are nullified due to the lack of headshots. Explosions’ effects will not kill you, and plus, you can be identified by the blast collar itself, which the monster cannot copy. This perk meshes with a soldier or an aggressive monster well, for they will be spending most of thier (short) life fighting. However, still attempt to dodge explosions, lest you lose this perk and most of your health.

    • New distinct waking sounds with the perk.
    • Now damages the Monster if the user is burrow trapped.
  • 0.2.23 (Ice Point) [March 2, 2018] - Damage to the Monster from being bitten changed to 4 (was 12.5).
  • Update 1.2 (Make Your Mark) [October 17, 2020] -
    • Rank to unlock changed to 1 (was 8).
    • Now has shove reduction.
  • Update 1.3 (Perkageddon!) [November 29, 2020] - Reworked into a Defense perk.
    • Now visible on Spacemen.
    • Shove reduction no longer applies while in Monster Form.
    • Shove reduction changed to 25% (was 50%).
    • Now only trigger in Spacemen form.
  • Update 1.3.5 (Winter Update) [January 23, 2021] -
    • No longer prevents being launched by the Emergency Mass Ejector.
  • Update 1.5 (Traitor Update) [August 13, 2021] -
    • Security Bots can now spawn with Magnetic Boots.
    • A pair of smoking Magnetic Boots are now left behind when the user is launched from an EME.
