There are many easter eggs in Unfortunate Spacemen. While traditional easter eggs are typically things the developer put in purely as a joke and aren't explicitly related to the lore of the game, Unfortunate Spacemen has fairly humorous lore and many jokes are considered canon. As such, all of easter eggs or potential easter eggs will be listed here.

General Easter Eggs[ | ]

This section is for easter eggs located in menus or other parts of the game, or otherwise easter eggs that are not explicitly present in only one map.

  • In the credits screen of the game, it says "No zombies were harmed in the making of this game." This is most likely a reference to Sandswept's canceled game -- The Dead Linger -- which came prior to the studio beginning development on Unfortunate Spacemen, and which some people blamed for The Dead Linger's demise, though this rumor has been debunked on multiple occasions by Zag himself. This is also most likely a nod to Left 4 Dead's "X zombies were harmed during the making of this film" which in of itself is a parody of movies that detail "No animals were harmed during the making of this film" during the credits.
  • The supply crate says "This Side Up" on every single side, pointing different directions. Possibly a reference to the fact that there really is no discernible "up" in zero gravity.
  • The Investigator's Pocket Detective has the logo of The Dead Linger at the bottom, another nod to the canceled game.
  • In the Sprays section of customization you can find a spray called "No Littering". It's description follows, "You there! Pick up that carton!". It's a reference to Valve's game Half-Life 2, where a Civil Protection officer told the hero to "Pick up that can". The spaceman is also seen to be holding a Stunbaton with sparks coming out of it, which is a reference to the Half-Life's Stunstick that the Civil Protection wield in the game, which is also weld by the officer that says "Pick up that can".
  • Roughneck Helmet is a reference to Starship Troopers' Rasczak's Roughnecks, later named to Rico's Roughnecks
